Who I am

How it started…

In 2013 I started working with ceramics. After performing the C.F.G.S. of Artistic Ceramics and doing the internship at Atelier Richard (Antwerp) I opened my own workshop in Jerez de la Frontera where I make my pieces by hand and on a wheel with enamels made by me. I also teach and do thematic courses.

Since 2016 I have participated in the Ceramic Gatherings – where some 30 potters from all over Spain meet to share knowledge and try new techniques that we organize as workshops during the day and special firings such as raku and obvara at night. I have also attended courses with Alberto Bustos (construction of shapes and textures) and Juan Ortí (turning techniques).

My philosophy…

Previously, from 2003-2013, I worked with polymer clay, which, although it has nothing to do with it, has helped me a lot to adapt some techniques used with this material to ceramics.

During those years I took many courses, some in Spain with the Polymeric Clay Association of Spain and others in Nottingham at festivals such as Polymer Play Days (with well-known artists in the world of polymer clay such as Donna Kato, Sarah Shriver, Dan Cormier, Grant Diffendaffer, Noelia Contreras, Ana Belchí, Jana Roberts Benzon, Judy Belcher…
